Keeping Kids Connected: An Annual Campaign to Support Student Attendance

Time in the classroom helps students strengthen reading and math skills, keep pace with their classmates, and prepare for each new stage of learning. Even two absences a month can add up to chronic absence over the course of a school year. As missed days accumulate, students may have greater difficulty progressing through middle school and reaching graduation.

The value of attending school also extends beyond academics. School provides structure, relationships, encouragement, and opportunities for children to explore their interests. Frequent absences can weaken those connections and leave students feeling isolated from their classmates, teachers, and school community.

This September, we’re raising $5,000 to help students across Kansas get the support they need to attend school regularly. Join our annual Keeping Kids Connected campaign and help connect more students to the learning, relationships, and opportunities available at school!
